WHY AREN'T WE THERE YET?
E. L. PLEASANT
We have no black leaders
today and we never found our way, only the illusion that we're moving forward
when in reality nothing has changed for us when the human warehouses are
85percent or more full of our young black male and females. Our past
reflection is a mirror of what we see presently and we call it progress.
Why, because we can drink from the same water Fontaine or sit at the front of
the bus when many still chooses to sit at the back or we can eat at a
restaurant that don't say whites only or movie theater. None of these
things are owned by blacks. As 2pac use to ask, "Where can we go and
call our own." A simple question but hard to answer, why, because we as
blacks are still living another mans dream of love, peace and prosperity which
we have yet to find for ourselves. For THINKING
OUT LOUD, I’M E. L. PLEASANT
