White Brooklyn Teacher Calls
Black Student 'Monkey,' Says Student's Mother (VIDEO)
A teacher at JHS 234 in Brooklyn is under fire for allegedly asking a black student if she was a "monkey."
PIX11 reports Deborah Perkins was alarmed to receive a phone call from her 12-year-old daughter in which the young girl described her teacher's attempts to stop her and other students from talking while the morning announcements were taking place.
Perkins said, "She told me, ‘My teacher called me and asked me if I was a monkey.’ She was, humiliated."
The Department of Education said the incident is under investigation.
On Friday, a high school English teacher in Albany was put on leave after giving his students a persuasive writing assignment, in which they had to argue that "Jews are evil."

blacks crying over every little thing, way to touchy!
Truth be told,
that monkey shit is being way over blown. If the child is being hardheaded and
all over the place, can't stay still for shit like a monkey then that's what u
portray yourselves as. Stop using that shit as an excuse.

The teacher probably meant cheeky
monkey. Monkey's, albeit very cute, are wild animals that do not know how to
behave. I know that when my child's behaviour is disrespectful and naughty, i
ask her if she's a wild animal: "Are you a wild animal? " implying
that we don't behave like that. Btw we're white.
-
HOW DO YOU FIGHT IGNORANCE?
"Monkey is a
racial word"
um no its not, its
an animal

ReplyDeleteBlack African American people were called /referred to as monkeys post slavery any educator/professional teacher should know this. This derogatory name calling is seen and known to people who study history. Also, it is is clear the teacher never willing apologized after telling the mother she her child looked like a monkey. The family had to enforce a direct apology to the child. You need to know the whole story. This teacher always made negative comments to the students in her class.
ReplyDeleteThe name calling that this teacher did is a direct result of ongoing comments negative to other children. It was proven. The teacher never willingly apologized to this student. The teacher debated the student enforcing her to believe this derogatory statement. The parent turned into a question. The investigation uncovered this and the teacher is in gross error.
ReplyDeleteYes out of the hearts abundance the mouth speaks. So many hating caucasians on here. To hold so much anamosity against someone who has never wronged you in any kind of way. Would love to hear their explainations to our Creator when it is time to render an account.
