VOTE IF YOU MUST!

                                                           BOB AVAKIAN

THE REVOLUTIONTALK.NET

They say, "Blacks or untrust worthy," so I'm sure you would believe Bob before you will me.

It is no longer about whose black or white, being a democrat or republican or even rights.  Because as Bob pointed out, have your opinion ever mattered?  I woke up one morning and found out that we were now being called African Americans and I don’t remember the question being asked or put to a vote.  Maybe you checked that box blind and they filled in what was being asked of you later on, like signing a blank check.

Four years ago they screamed kick/rock the vote for change and once again there is no difference, nothing have changed; because that platform for change was not what the black community was praying for.   Their agenda was never about giving what is owed to blacks because you saw or thought you were putting a familiar face in an office with power.  As Janet Jackson sung some years ago, “What have you done for me lately?”  Which isn’t much that I would be jumping for joy and saying hell yeah keep that man in office because we are finally getting our piece of the pie?  Therefore I don’t feel guilty one way or the other because hard times are all most poor blacks have ever known.   So don’t step to me with that quilt trip talking about, “you don’t have a right to complain if you didn’t vote or your people did so that I could have the right too,” because I can cast my vote for you or him and in the end nothing is going to change until we make a difference.  If we can come together in that strength and numbers like the million man march then we all would be singing a different tune, but right now, you and I know only the rich voices are being heard.  For THINKING OUT LOUD, I’m E. L. PLEASANT
